Terms of Use
Welcome to Wondershare FamiSafe (hereinafter referred to as "FamiSafe" or the "Software"). These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Wondershare Technology Co., Ltd. ("Wondershare", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your download, installation, access to, or use of the FamiSafe software and any related services.
By installing, launching, or otherwise using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately cease downloading, installing, or using the Software.
FamiSafe reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Unless otherwise specified, revised or modified Terms will take effect immediately upon posting, and your continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to any modification, you must cease using the Software and, where applicable, cancel your subscription.
FamiSafe is an intelligent parental control application designed to help parents and legal guardians monitor and manage the digital activities of their minor children or dependents, promoting safe, healthy, and responsible use of smart devices and the internet. These Terms cover key aspects of your use of the Software, including the software license, features, user rights and responsibilities, privacy protection, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
We strongly recommend that you also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and forms an integral part of your understanding of our services.
1. Software License
1.1 Individual Use
Subject to these Terms, Wondershare grants you (as an individual) a limited, revocable, personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to download, install, and activate the Software for your own use, solely for the purpose of monitoring and managing the digital activities of your minor children or dependents over whom you have legal guardianship. Sharing the Software with others or allowing others to access their content violates this Term. You may not make the Software available over a network or otherwise provide access to multiple users unless you have first obtained a multi-user license from FamiSafe. FamiSafe reserves all rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms.
1.2 Scope of Use
This license is strictly limited to non-commercial, family-based use. You may not use FamiSafe to:
- Monitor individuals who are not your minor children or dependents;
- Conduct commercial surveillance or monitoring;
- Engage in illegal, unethical, or unlawful surveillance;
- Violate applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
1.3 Special Notice – Public Sharing of Data
While FamiSafe's features (including location tracking, screen time management, content filtering, and app control) are permitted for family-based parental supervision, you must not publicly share data reports, screenshots, recordings, or other information generated by the Software (e.g., on social media, in news reports, or for commercial display) unless such sharing:
- Does not infringe upon the privacy rights of others;
- Complies fully with all applicable laws and regulations;
- Is conducted with appropriate anonymization and consent where required.
2. Software Description and Key Features
FamiSafe is a comprehensive parental control solution that enables real-time monitoring and management of children's digital device usage. Key functionalities include:
- Social App Detection: Monitors popular social media platforms and YouTube for explicit, offensive, or potentially harmful content, and sends alerts when predefined keywords or risky behaviors are detected.
- Screen Time Control: Allows parents to track daily device usage, set usage limits, schedule bedtime restrictions, and remotely lock devices during study or family time.
- Location Tracking: Provides real-time location updates, historical movement records, and geofence alerts when a child enters or leaves designated safe or restricted areas.
Additional tools include app blocking, web filtering, device usage reports, and more. The availability of certain features may vary based on device compatibility, operating system permissions, and user configuration.
3. Personal Information Protection
3.1 Commitment to Privacy
FamiSafe places high importance on the security and privacy of users' personal information. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other national regulations.
3.2 Data Collection and Use
To enable core functionalities such as location tracking, app usage analysis, and remote control, the Software may request access to certain device permissions, including: Location services; App usage statistics; Notification access.
You agree to grant these permissions during setup and use. The collected information is used for the following purposes:
- To deliver and maintain core services;
- To continuously improve and optimize the user experience.
3.3 Privacy Policy Governs
For detailed information on data collection, use, storage, sharing, and your rights (including access, correction, deletion, and restriction), please refer to our Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy shall prevail to the extent necessary to comply with applicable law.
3.4 Data Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction, including China and the United States. By using FamiSafe, you consent to such cross-border data transfers.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree that:
- You will only monitor individuals for whom you have legal parental authority or guardianship;
- You will comply with all applicable laws regarding privacy, surveillance, and child protection in your jurisdiction;
- You will inform the monitored user(s) of the use of monitoring features, unless doing so would pose a risk to the child's safety (e.g., in cases of abuse or exploitation);
- You are solely responsible for interpreting data and taking appropriate actions based on FamiSafe outputs;
- You will not use FamiSafe to violate anyone's privacy rights or engage in unlawful surveillance.
You represent and warrant that you are the legal parent or guardian of the monitored individual(s), and that such individuals are under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
5. Prohibited Uses
You shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:
- Modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software;
- Create derivative works based on the Software or its documentation;
- Sublicense, rent, lease, distribute, loan, or otherwise transfer the Software;
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
- Use the Software for commercial hosting, time-sharing, service bureau, or facility management purposes;
- Use the Software to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
Wondershare reserves all rights not expressly granted under these Terms.
6. Intellectual Property Ownership
The Software, including its structure, organization, code, and all related materials, is the exclusive intellectual property of Wondershare and its third-party licensors. The Software is protected by copyright laws in the People's Republic of China, the United States, and other countries, as well as international treaties.
You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Software. Except as expressly permitted herein, no license or right is granted, by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
You may develop plug-ins based on the Software's open interface protocol for your personal, lawful use, provided that you first obtain prior written authorization from Wondershare. If you use such plug-ins without authorization, you alone bear all legal liability, including any loss or damage to third parties.
7. Updates and Modifications
Wondershare may, at its sole discretion, provide you with free or paid updates to the Software or its content ("Updates"), including new versions, feature enhancements, bug fixes, or content changes.
An Update may replace your current version, and your right to use the prior version terminates upon acceptance of the Update.
You may retain the previous version temporarily to assist in migration, but Wondershare may discontinue support or access without notice.
Updates may be delivered via the Software or our official website.
Some features may require regular content updates to function properly.
Wondershare may also modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Product Content (e.g., videos, images, features) at any time due to legal requirements, licensing changes, or technical needs, with or without notice. We are not liable for any resulting loss or inability to access such content.
8. Support Services
Wondershare is not obligated to provide technical support under these Terms. However, we may offer:
- Free email support for installation, troubleshooting, and basic assistance;
- Paid premium support services, if available.
Support availability and scope are subject to change at our discretion.
9. Term and Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Wondershare may terminate these Terms immediately upon written notice if:
- You commit a material breach that is not capable of remedy; or
- You fail to cure a material breach within 15 calendar days of receiving written notice.
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the Software terminates;
- You must cease all use and uninstall the Software;
- All provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., intellectual property, liability, indemnity) shall continue.
You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the Software.
10. No Warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WONDERSHARE AND ITS AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, AGENTS, AND EMPLOYEES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND DATA ACCURACY.
Some functions ("restricted functions") depend on third-party plug-ins installed on your device. You acknowledge that:
- You are solely responsible for obtaining proper authorization to use such plug-ins;
- All risks and liabilities associated with third-party plug-ins are borne by you.
The Software may contain open-source components (e.g., under MIT, Apache, GPL licenses). Wondershare disclaims all warranties with respect to such components. The liability limitations in these Terms apply equally to open-source materials.
11. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL WONDERSHARE OR ITS AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR SAVINGS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE, IF ANY.
If the Software becomes the subject of an intellectual property infringement claim, Wondershare may, at its option: Obtain the right for you to continue using it; Replace or modify it to be non-infringing; or Terminate your license and refund any fees paid.
We are not liable for third-party content, links, or services accessible through the Software. Use of third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Wondershare and its affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from: Your illegal or improper use of the Software; Violation of these Terms or applicable laws; Infringement of third-party rights.
This obligation survives termination or expiration of these Terms.
13. Export Controls
You may not use, export, or re-export the Software to any country or territory subject to United Nations or U.S. sanctions. You represent and warrant that you are not located in such jurisdictions and will comply with all applicable export laws.
14. Publicity Rights
During the term of these Terms, you grant Wondershare the right to include your name and affiliation in customer lists or promotional materials.
You may opt out:
- Before purchase: by sending a written request to support@wondershare.com; confirmation must be received prior to purchase.
- After inclusion: you may request removal at any time via email. Wondershare will remove your information within 30 days.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall be resolved by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) in accordance with its rules, to the extent permitted by your local law.

We may send notices to you using the email address you have provided during registration or subscription. Such notices shall be deemed effective upon transmission.
17. Amendments
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Software after such notice constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must uninstall the Software.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire understanding between you and Wondershare regarding the Software and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, or agreements, whether oral or written.
